Tabuk is northwestern Saudi Arabia's operational capital and a strategic UNEOM city programme location due to its proximity to two of Vision 2030's flagship megaprojects: NEOM (200 km west) and the Red Sea Project (250 km southwest). Tabuk's 0.7 million population (GASTAT 2024) is rapidly expanding as construction-sector workers, security operators, and supporting commercial services relocate to support these projects through 2030.
Tabuk's climate is the Kingdom's most thermally varied. The city sits at 770m elevation with January overnight lows reaching -3°C in surrounding highlands during Shita' al-'Ashara (the ten coldest days), summer daytime peaks of 42°C, and overnight summer lows that drop to 22°C — a 25°C diurnal swing. Standard Saudi-spec uniforms designed for stable 40°C+ conditions fail thermally on both ends. UNEOM's Tabuk programme deploys layered thermal regulation: lightweight summer base, transitional poly-cotton, and removable thermal liner for the cold-weather months.
UNEOM operates 18+ active accounts in Tabuk with rapid expansion projected through 2027 as NEOM and Red Sea Project construction phases ramp. Current programme anchors include security (perimeter operators for construction sites), corporate (regional administration offices), and emerging hospitality (early-phase project accommodation). The Tabuk operations centre is staged from the Jeddah depot with 48-hour delivery to Tabuk Municipality and NEOM-region addresses.
